Here are a few pictures from our editorial style Downtown Charleston and Cypress Gardens engagement portrait photography session.  This was so much fun as the day turned out to be an “official” proposal as the ring finally arrived just in time.  We had no idea this was part of Rob’s plan as he was not able to call when he arrived-so we were as surprised as Tanisha.  Good thing, because it is not easy to paddle around to get a better angle once the proposal started-LOL!

Anyone who has been to Cypress Gardens in the Spring, knows that there probably isn’t a more romantic setting in the world?  Apart from being beautiful, it is also famous for being the backdrop for the movie “The Notebook”-which I keep meaning to watch as it is a frequent topic of conversation.  I am often told by brides they have always wanted to get married in Charleston since seeing that movie as a kid.  We have an upcoming wedding at Boone Hall which is also famous for being a location for the movie and is one of our favorite Charleston wedding and portrait venues.

It was also so much fun as Tanisha put a lot of passion into the styling and preparation for the shoot.  It is great when the shoot is a team effort and a collaboration as that is hte best way to capture authentic images that are a reflection of the couples style and personality.  Once I saw the outfits for the downtown portion of the shoot, I knew I wanted to use one of my favorite lime green faded walls.  The “rockstar” cat was a bonus.  The cat came out of nowhere and couldn’t have done anything better as he used Rob’s pants as a scratching post and looks like he can’t bear the idea of not being the center of attention.  His black and white color was also perfect for the composition?  After the shoot I went back and of course he was well compensated with chicken!
