Isle of Palms Wedding Photographer

We always love an opportunity to photograph weddings in unique locations, so Mary and Alex’s wedding  was certainly “food for the soul”.  After hearing all the details about them, we couldn’t wait for May 18th to photograph their beautiful event on the “off the beaten” path location of Goat Island.

This secluded wedding venue is only accesible by a short boat trip from the Isle Of Palms marina. It was first settled in 1931 by the Halloway family who moved to the island in order to escape the busy Charleston lifestyle.  Yes, there are goats which still roam the island and are well taken care of by the locals.

The island also had such an important significance to Mary, who grew up spending summer days on the island and continues to have strong family ties to the beautiful, idyllic venue.

The ceremony took place at low-tide on a sand bar and was one of the most beautiful “natural” places for a wedding in recent memory!  Those who know us also are aware that we are huge dog lovers, and they wanted to include their pup in the wedding as he was a big reason they met and fell in love.

However, in addition to the epic location, the best part of our job is capturing the joy, emotion and love evident in the photos from the day.  We are so grateful to have had the opportunity to spend the day with Mary, Alex, all their family, friends and create these unique and beautiful photographs for them to share with their grandchildren!

A special thanks to Dianne for the hospitality, boat ride and for making us feel at home!

We also want to give a big “Thank You” to Kelly Kicklighter from “andsomethingblue” for all her beautiful and amazing wedding planning!  Kelly can be reached at 843.425.1317 should you need an amazing “day of planner”.
