What a beautiful day with Laura and Aaron under the live Oak trees and stars at LeGare Waring House.  We are reminded every time we photograph at Charlestowne Landing just how lucky we are to have such beautiful backdrops.  As we’ve previously mentioned, it seems that almost all of our new couples work in the creative arts or have a strong appreciation of the arts.  After hearing all about Laura and Aaron’s Christmas Day proposal, we also learned that he is an architect and both love music.  We learned that Basquiat is one of Aaron’s favorite painters and also he is influenced by architect Thom Maynes.  After a little research into the latter, we are absolutely positive about one thing moving forward, namely that we have no idea how to incorporate the cacophony of a Basquiat painting into a bridal portrait!

After many conversations, past weddings/portraits at Chucktown Landing under our belts, and armed with our art research, we we were prepared for the wedding day.  After spending the day getting to know their friends and family, as well as photographing them, we started to learn that they are one of the most comfortable and natural couples in front of the camera. It is one of those things that, after many years as a photographer, is very easy to see but hard to explain.  Getting to be a part of moments like this and witness two people who are so comfortable with each other forces me into using a cliche…they are “meant for each other”!

The best part of this wedding however was that we were able to spend the entire weekend with our new friends as we did a beach portrait shoot following the Saturday wedding.  We hope you enjoy seeing the photography.  We are also designing an album for Laura and Aaron and we think we have the perfect way to incorporate the Basquiat elements into the design.  We are going to leave coffee cup circle stains on the matte fine-art prints, tape colored markers to my dogs tail in reach of the paper then ask her if she wants a cookie and find a summer camp of four year olds to use a box of crayons to draw their summer.  If you know the artist or click on the link to see some of his work, hopefully this will make sense.

Thank You again for choosing us to create these wedding images and for a beautiful weekend.
