Charleston wedding photographers destination wedding at Postcard Inn, Florida

Florida Keys wedding photos from Postcard Inn, Key Largo, Florida.

We started off our year at a location well known to us from many years ago.  At the time we first moved to Florida, Fort Lauderdale was the “Spring Break” capital and A1A was filled with spandex and mayhem; it was the heyday of metal bands and US1 was a mix of college kids and spandex!   An equally popular event was the yearly bartenders week held at the world famous Key Largo “Tiki Bar”.  This week was seven days of legendary partying which was basically an week long extension of Spring Break.

So when we first heard from Eva and Michael about the changes to the changes to the wedding venue, we were excited to see all the new changes.  We were shocked to see such a transformation as The “Tiki Bar” has been renovated to a boutique hotel and resort called The Postcard Inn-it even has a Shula’s Steakhouse on the grounds!

We were also honored to be asked to photograph Eva and Michael’s wedding as we had met them the year before when we photographed her sister, Sofia’s beautiful wedding Savannah, Georgia.  It is always so nice to spend a few days with our new friends and families and we truly felt like part of the family!

While we had met Eva and Michael previously. we really got to know more about them and their style in the time leading up to the wedding.  It was an absolutely beautiful day and the wedding was held near the crystal blue water of the Florida Keys.  Although Florida is at sea-level, one of the most beautiful things about it is the amazing sunsets as the small strip of land is only 1/2 mile wide.  As always, we scouted the local area beforehand and found some authentic Florida Keys locations for bridal party portraits-which was a lot of fun with their energetic crew.

Following the wedding, we took advantage of one of the coolest areas we have ever used for photography.  When we moved to Charleston, the Winwood Arts District was just starting to turn from warehouse artists to high-end galleries, and corresponding prices.  The graffiti walls are spectacular.

We want to thank Eva and Michael again for allowing us to spend the day capturing their beautiful wedding story.  We hope you love the photos as much as we did creating them!
