We are excited to share one of our most recent weddings of our new friends Nichole and Daniel. Since moving here eight years ago, we have shot events at almost every venue across the low country , but this was our first wedding at this amazing venue. Built in 1807, it is probably one of the most elegant and “swanky” of the downtown Charleston properties and the perfect backdrop for a Southern Wedding. As you can tell from the furnishings and classic Charleston decor, It isn’t hard to envision Thomas Jefferson arriving for a formal dinner of Shrimp and Grits?
One of the best parts of what we do is hearing the story of each couple and spending a few days creating photographs that will be shared with grandchildren in fifty years. It was interesting learning that Nichole and Daniel went to high school together, but made the connection almost ten years later while vacationing on a cruise ship. After spending a lot of time together doing their engagement photos and the wedding, it was so clear that these two were perfect for each other!

We had so much fun working with some of the best Charleston wedding professionals and want to thank Megan from OOH Events for making the wedding so beautiful to photograph. The wedding cake created by Fish was pure artistry and more importantly, absolutely delicious. One of the things we learned that may have made the difference is that often cakes are frozen for easier transport; but that Fish bakes on the day of the wedding and you can really taste the difference!
We also were proud to work with a local legend and extraordinary artist Quiana Parler & Friends. No matter how much in the groove we are focused on capturing the energy of the dancefloor, I am always finding myself stopping to listen to one of the most amazing voices and “tight” bands I’ve ever heard. We know that Quiana toured nationally with the likes of Clay Aiken and Kelly Clarkson and are always thrilled to get to spend the evening with her and the crew! If you haven’t had a chance to check out the documentary “Twenty Feet from Stardom” we highly recommend it. Just glad we have Quiana staying local and keeping the dancefloor rocking.
We hope you enjoy the photography from our first William Aiken House wedding and wanted to give a big Thank You to Nichole, Daniel and all their friends and families for making our day so much fun!
